Gill Core - Director of Nursing & Midwifery

 

Gill joined the Trust on the 1st of April 2006. She is the professional lead for nurses and midwives in the Trust as well as having wider responsibility for the quality of care delivered. Her remit covers the management of risk, patient quality, estates and facilities and involvement of patients and the public in services.

 

Gill joined the NHS as a nurse in 1981 and enjoyed a successful clinical career in critical care nursing; she followed this with roles in quality management and operations management, prior to spending five years in two Deputy Director of Nursing posts, most recently at Aintree.

 

She has a number of professional interests, particularly leadership development and education and has participated in the development of the Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF).
