Liverpool Women’s Hospital offers the support of two Macmillan
Gynaecology
Oncology nurses and a specialist Consultant in Palliative
Care.
The service aims to facilitate the needs of women and their carers,
from initial investigation, and then throughout their cancer journey.
Following a comprehensive assessment of each individual patient and
carer’s needs, the team can offer:
· advice and information
· physical, social, psychological and spiritual support
· symptom control
· treatment information
· links into the services of the many professionals available as a resource
for the patient and carer
· liaison with Primary Care Group
The team also act as a resource for the educational development of staff
in the area of Gynaecology
Oncology.
