Gynaecology Oncology
The care of the patient with gynaecological cancer demands both highly specialised treatment allied to a multi-professional approach to the very broad range of physical, emotional, spiritual and inter-relational problems that these cancers can cause.

The Liverpool Women’s Hospital offers surgical assessment and treatment under the leadership of two fully trained sub-specialist Consultants in Gynaecological Oncology and the hospital is recognised as a regional centre for the treatment of gynaecological malignancy.

Together with Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology, the hospital runs a comprehensive multi-professional Cancer Clinic which is regularly staffed by specialists in Gynaecological Surgery and Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Medicine.

The clinic and the in-patient service is also supported by two specialist Cancer Nurses, who work full-time for the Liverpool Womens Hospital. Patients can be seen in the Combined Cancer Clinics via referrals from their general practitioners or Consultant colleagues at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital and neighbouring units.
