Travelling To The Liverpool Women's Hospital

Travelling By Car

When travelling from outside the city, follow road signs to the 'City Centre'. Once in the city centre, there are road signs for 'The Women's Hospital'.

The hospital has a large car park for the use of patients and their visitors. Patients attending outpatient appointments or pre-operative appointments should receive a 'Parking Slip' at the bottom of their appointment letter, that can be used on the day of the appointment for free parking. The parking slip should be displayed in the car. Patients attending ante-natal or gynaecology outpatient appointments will receive the 'Parking Slip' at the bottom of their FIRST appointment letter. After this, appointment, patients will need to use a 'Car Park Pass' which is available from clinic receptions. Visitors are required to 'Pay and Display' to use the car park. This costs only 20p for up to 5 hours. The car park is regularly checked by hospital security.
Travelling By Bus

There are a number of buses that stop outside the hospital. For up-to-date information, contact:-

Travelling By Train/Coach
Liverpool Lime Street Station (British Rail), Central Station (MerseyRail) and the National Express coach station are all in the city centre, a five minute bus or taxi journey from the hospital. Ferry
From the Ferry Terminal at the Pier Head walk to Paradise Street Bus Station (ask at the Ferry Terminal if you are unsure of the directions). From Paradise Street Bus Station there are many buses which will take you to the Liverpool Women's Hospital.

Patients On Benefit

If you are a patient attending the hospital and you are receiving benefit, it may be possible for you to claim a refund on travelling expenses. In order to do this you need to bring with you:

1 ) Proof that you are in receipt of benefit e.g. Benefit Book

2) All relevant bus or train tickets, or a record of mileage travelled by car

3) P.T.I. (Pink Slip) - you can get this at the clinic or hospital department you attend You need to do this every time you attend or you may not get a refund.
